Those that love cicadas, is that sautéed in butter or chocolate covered?

Even in our Texas winters we don't have bugs. They must stay on the bus and jump the border to Mexico.
While I believe you, can't fathom you not having winter bugs.

I asked DW what she thought of the cicada singing in the garden. She said she couldn't hear any bug ...

I wonder what I thought was a cicada. With the hearing aids, I can still hear the robins and quail. They sound as I have always remembered them. That isn't true with all birds and I noticed that many years ago. It was their songs that changed! Yeah ;).

There is a very tiny bird that sings up a storm in the little veggie garden this year. I was quite sure he was not a flycatcher but he is no bigger. I listened to flycatcher calls in Allaboutbirds. Nope, they don't really have a song ... Small. I sometimes see wrens there but not singing on a power line! I'm at a loss ... hard to see the tiny guy against the sky!

We are cool this morning at 64 degrees, but I think we were in the 50's earlier. It's supposed to be highs in the 70's for the next 2 days and a low tomorrow morning almost in the 40's...and then...Saturday is supposed to get to 97 for a high! :th
I have up potted my homegrown tomatoes this year--Mortgage Lifter, for those who care--and they are beautiful and tall. Tomorrow I will be home transplanting them in beds. Found my camera, so I'll take pictures of my porch/window ledges/nursey and then what they look like buried up to their necks! I need them to be out in the heat this weekend.
