Weather

Ha! I've wondered how the Weather Service measures a hundredth of an inch of rain ... I'm still wondering ... do they use blotting paper and weigh it, or sumthin??

Anyway, a little rain fell today and there may be more on the way ... and that could be blessed relief from this heat. This was the first rain in awhile. There was a "trace" on May 27.

I checked the reports from the nearest weather station. Hourly info, let's see: raining, raining, raining. Records show 0.01" on each hour, 3 hour "totals" .01". What?!

Shouldn't it be .03"? Oh, what the heck difference does it make? The asphalt wasn't even uniformly dampened! It couldn't have benefited any plant, if they were lucky, a blade of grass may have caught 2 drops. The humidity was oppressive after, tho!

Kidding! (But, not about those stats)

radar map shows moisture moving up from Walla Walla! Ready for more sprinkles!

We had a few thundershowers that seemed to drop a good amount, but not much in the wheelbarrow when I went out. That's my official rain gauge. Did enjoy the overcast though.

Are your sunrise and sunset, precisely on the hours, CoCo??

Here's where we can shine, comparisons with the Deep South! The naval observatory tables are down but here is Time and Date:

Sunrise Today:4:52 AM↑ 53° Northeast

Sunset Today:8:47 PM↑ 307° Northwest

Dh helped me at work today so I have the leisure to lounge on the couch...in dry jeans (we worked in the rain...brrr!) hoodie and wool sox. And I'd build a fire if I wasn't so lazy. We can get whiplash if we aren't careful, right Steve?

Sometimes, it feels like
