Correction, add a zero to that... I guess they're calling it a once in an 1000 year event.

I must admit I had little awareness of how very bad it was in other areas of the state until I saw the news today. WV is all mountains and valleys. It doesn't take much to fill them up.

@Beekissed , how are folks in your area?

@MontyJ and @dewdropsinwv , you guys doing ok? My aunt from Moundsville said they didn't get much rain up there.

I haven't been on in awhile bc it's been too damn hot out to really do any yard/garden work! Yesterday afternoon I made myself get out in the garden to weed because it was looking pretty pitiful, weeds were taking over! It was still searing out but I sweated my way through it! Plants are doing okay but struggling in this heat, this is August kinda heat not supposed to be this bad in June ugh....don't know how we make it through these summers...
Alaska is looking real nice right about now hahaha
Hope everyone else is not struggling through this oppressive heat!

The local teevee weather person said that this week was not feeling like July.

I can live with 70's and and high 50's overnight ...

I don't even think those temperatures need slow growth in most plants. Overcast skies may not either. (It was 32°f in Stanley ID this morning. ;))

Digits, I would LOVE the 70's! Hope your enjoying it to the fullest!

Nyboy, it has been so hot that the AC can't keep up, honestly it's terrible! Heat index is supposed to hit 110-115 today & rest of week!

The humidity completely slaps you in the face as soon as you open the door, it's oppressive!

It's nearly 2pm and 66°, very overcast. I've been hit by at least 1 raindrop, today.

While driving from the garden, I saw 2 people with jackets on. Oh yeah, there was a #3, guy working on a roof in a hoodie. One was an olde guy, so he can be excused. One was a young lady. Oh, I guess they all can be excused!

I know the visitor to the neighbors is younger than I am but in his sixties. He was working in their yard ... without a shirt on! There's no excuse for him.
