I appreciate the input. I think it will work for my purposes, as I’m not trying to grow out of season, but get a little earlier start. I put my rosemary in there a month ago and it’s been just enough protection from wind and frost to keep it alive. It definitely freezes in there overnight, I put a container of water in to see. It warms up surprisingly fast once the sun comes up but ice was on top so I will need to be choosy with plants and dates. 
It’ll be a good spot for my chick brooder, out of the wind so I don’t have to smell ‘em
