Grass can be hard to get rid of by hand-pulling, but if it's not an invasive grass that spreads by rhizomes under the soil, you might be up for trying it. You can do as SmartRed said, mowing down the berries in the paths and leaving a narrow strip of runners, then till the paths. That would leave you with only the grass in the remaining strips to pull.
Then the next year you would mow down and till the strip of plants that produced this year, starting a new row similarly using this year's runners. I think the big berry farms just till their whole field and replant each fall. They would be more worried about the runners carrying diseases though.
