No embarrassment Oldguy- I thought lizard or snake at first too- I was actually hoping for that since my grandson is a lizard lover and thought it would be great fun to watch them hatch.

hoodat- I'm in San Diego too, and yup, snails are a big problem- although I do feed them young ones to my chickens- the bigger ones they don't like, unless I step on them, then they run over for scrambled snail and chase each other for the choicest pieces (chickens are so funny). I was recently introduced to sluggo- but have not used it yet- I guess it's time :)

As far as all the escargot comments and links- I had escargot once, and it was like little rubbery nuggets drenched in garlic butter- so... I wouldn't go to the trouble- I can think of a lot more appealing things to put garlic butter on. :gig
