Jet hatched for me almost 2 years ago out of a dozen eggs i won in an auction. i ended up with him and his brother, who i have since lost. they were in a lot of eggs that were supposed to be mixed colors of smooth and frizzled faverolles. which there are no frizzled faverolles unless you cross breed in something that has the gene. so out came Jet as black as could be as a chick with fuzzy cheeks, 5 toes and a small bump on his head like a polish! his brother Spike came out the fuzzy yellow you'd expect of a salmon or light colored faverolles chick but he colored in white and black like ermine or the light columbian color that's been in the works here in the US. Spike was going to be my project bird till i lost him a year ago.

so far Jet's 2 daughters have both been frizzled whites while his 1 son is the red/blue salmon faverolles male pattern. i had 3 other chicks hatch but they were hurt from my peahens getting them from my broody hen while they were hatching. the 3 chicks were going to be a black and 2 blues and had their 5th toes. :hit i was so hopeful to have more faverolles in my flock last summer. next summer i will be more diligent with moving momma hens to their own area to protect the hatching babies from those mean peahens.
