What are these bugs on my gooseberry?

MOST ladybugs, not all. I'm specifically thinking of the 14 spot ladybug (or as I always think of it the "Ooh!, look at the cute tiny yellow ladybug with the dog's face on it's back" ladybug), THAT one is actually considered INVASIVE in North America (though whether that means it damages plants or just crowds out native ladybugs, I don't know http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propylea_quatuordecimpunctata

I mixed a solution of Tabasco (2tbsp), a few drops of detergent and a quart of water.. I sprayed it on tonight and man did those bugs run for the hills.. We'll see how things are tomorrow... The sprayer kept clogging probably cuz the pepper sauce had some minor chunks I guess ..

Ps the spiny dark bugs were there first and the leafhoppers later...
