This morning I planted the 5 little Yukon gold potatoes that I saved from 2011. They had all sprouted signifigant roots and sprouts, so into the bed they went. This makes 31 potato plants growing for me. May will be a very good month. :D

Well I have posted because I have been working in the garden. I have planted most of the onions I had started. They went in the bed with the lettuce and cabbage. I also started a second bed and I planted broccoli plants, lincoln peas, and rainbow carrots. The second bed is now full but I still have some room in the first bed. I am going to put the rest of my onions in there. I have my tomatoes and peppers in the empty end to hardened. I can't believe that I am hardening tomatoes and peppers in March in OHIO!!!!!

I also took off work on Wed and put in my raised herb garden. I planted:
Basil
Oregano
Chives
Marjoram
Thyme
Sage
All plants that I started indoors

Then I planted
parsley
dill
lavendar
from seed. I don't know it the lavendar will grow like that but I thought I would try it.

I also have lemon basil and garlic chives that are hardening so I can plant them also. That should finish filling it up. It really looks nice.

Today I direct seeded some Jalapenos and Habaneros, plus lots more carrots (a friend gave me a great recipe for spicy pickled carrots like they have in the taco shops in San Diego) and some Early White Bush Squash. Of course, I also weeded and watered and then just stood there admiring for a few minutes. I'm so happy it's spring. :love :woot :bun
