Recipe, Beavis?

No recipe, just sliced thinly in a salad.

Kohlrabi is something that Dad will eat like an apple! I'm not that inclined :p. I will say that it is a good deal milder than a turnip . . . or, some radishes, for that matter.

Speaking of which, my radish seed pods are really handy for snacking in the garden at the moment ;).

If you like the taste of raw cabbage you'll enjoy them. They're nice shredded in a salad. They originally came from the area around Poland and there are some great polish recipes for them.

That looks interesting. Have you used it before? I've seen them in magazines, and have wondered how well they work.

Getting in some of my fall crops: beets, snow peas, garlic, more green beans, and Brussel's sprouts (not sure if I have enough time for those, but we'll see what happens).

I am planting beets, carrots, radish, onion, and lettuce. I will be planting them in the squares between my dying tomato plants. It will finally be down in the lower 70's this week as night time lows. Need those lows for these things to survive.

I did plant 5 new tomatoes last month. They are just now starting to flower and are looking great.

We pulled the corn stalks (which I froze over 250 ears), we plowed the plot and I'm planting collards, turnips, and beets in that patch after Labor Day. My grandmother says not til after Labor Day or they'll burn up. ;)
