What Did You Do In The Garden?

Thanks @digitS' and @ninnymary! I enjoy it. It’s fun to dress up for fall and Christmas too. As you can see, I still have the Christmas lights on the roof. o_O Wasn’t so noticeable when I use white lights. But the colored ones really stand out. I wasn’t too happy with the colored lights though, so this year, it’ll be going back to white lights.

I couldn’t leave it alone... put the stepping stones in (crap, those were heavy!!!), widened the bed a bit more, added new drip-line to the new space, and planted some more flowers. This eve I’ll mulch.

The dust can be a pain, for sure. The plants by the yard do get dusty so I hose them off every couple weeks. We live by a shared gravel driveway and that dust is a pain too. Last year keeping the flowers nice was impossible thanks to the geese. Mash central! The plants that were in last year are suffering a bit still but hopefully will look much better next year.

Canada geese, or do you keep geese also?

They were Toulouse... a breeding pair. But :( we got home just after dark, after driving to/from grammas memorial in December, and the coyotes had got them just before we got home and could get them in the barn for the night. i cried............

went out to get some weeding done this morning while it was still sort of cool out. Mom decided the bucket of daffodil bulbs i gave her to use were not big enough so i had all of those to find a place for to replant (to see what they are eventually when they flower). so i had to find space to put them in and dig the trenches and then get them in there. yes, there were some tiny ones in there and they went in the spot that had the poorest soil because i don't want to put them any place else just yet until i know what they are... so many may be duplicates of flowers we already have so i may cull them eventually anyways or give them away.

i keep having this fantasy of going up and down the road as far as i can in each direction and putting them every 10 feet or so where they can flower in the spring, but i never get around to it. that is why i call it a fantasy, but it sure would be nice to have some flowers along the roads instead of just mowed grass/weeds and farm fields. there's easily a few thousand extra daffodils here that could be used... :)

and then i started weeding the strawberry patch. will take another morning to finish it. got too hot out there and it was time for brunch...

It probably doesn't help you much, but if you don't mind a drive my friend has the "wedding dress geese" (sapiscapul? Not sure on spelling) and she's trying to rehome them. If you're interested I'm sure she'd give them to you if you came and got them, but they're western washington.
