What did YOU do in your garden today :P

I webbed hay twine for the English peas to climb on, planted 20 pounds of potatoes . . .
Let's see . . . 1# seed potatoes/10 feet of row . . . Yield of 6# to 15#/10 feet so, 6 to 15 x 20 = 120# to 300# of potatoes . . !!

First "calculating" for the New Year is listing "too little" or "enuf" for what seed I've got downstairs. That isn't really math so, somewhat, a safe activity.

ALMOST finished with tree pruning. I worked on the 2 large apple trees today, but still have a bit more to do to them. Gotta go borrow my dad's pole saw. Gonna be sore tomorrow! :th I wish I'd think about it each year and remember to start lifting weights or something a few weeks prior to jumping back into some of the more strenuous garden work. I'm pretty sure my arms are going to fall off. :P

@journey11 do ya' need a double arm sling? :)

I pulled weeds today. Lots and lots of annual rye grass, only around here it reseeds itself and comes back every year. The chickens love it. I planted some seeds in those 6 and 9 packs pots that I had stashed in the garage. I enjoyed the sunshine and the breeze. Lovely day.

Double arm sling...you mean like a straight-jacket? Yeah, probably then!

Finished framing that south bed main garden. Campers started arriving so switched gears after that to neatening things up, and had to tend to the burn pile. It's a burn day.

BIG STORM COMING IN ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!

This one comes courtesy of ALASKA, so hopefully the mountains will also get a lot of snow for a slow fill and groundwater fill.

But we'll need about 3 of them to completely end the drought, so

KEEP UP THE RAIN DANCES!

@journey11 :) I pulled weeds today.

Finally something to rejoice about! There are no weeds in my veggie garden to be seen! :plbb Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah! :plbb

Of course, the reason there are no weeds to be seen is they would be covered with several inches of snow, :idunnobut I'm not pulling 'em!

:rant Around here, it is too early to start most veggie seeds.:rant When the time comes, I'll have plenty of work in my gardens as well. :fl When the time comes. :fl

@marshallsmyth - I hope all of our March snows end up in your mountains!

I went out to check out a tree that fell on my rock garden yesterday. That willow has made it through 80 mile an hour winds, but a little snow and ice and bam, down it went. That garden could probably use a little more sun anyway. One more project for Spring.

That is a healthy attitude, Lavender! Maybe you have room for a new sapling somewhere else.
. . . BIG STORM COMING IN ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!! . . .
I just looked back at that 6 day out map, Marshall. It looks better than it did this morning for you.

The morning "discussion" talked a little about AZ but the map only showed significant rain in northern California. Now, tonight, the entire state has the rain forecast by the 28th thru 2nd. It looks real good!
