Wow! I looked at that, @buckabucka .

Tracking weather and drawing estimates 10 days out from Japan ... I like that! The Japanese know what their weather is. Let's make a model of where it usually goes :).

I check NOAA's predictions 8 days and beyond, now and then. Do you think I could decide on what crops I could grow based on long-term predictions? It seems that I'm always crowded into a narrow time window by the plant requirements and our seriously 4 season year.

Maybe you could base some of your plantings on long-term predictions and see how things pan out.

I don't like the long-range winter prediction! At first he is talking about El Niño and how we may have warmer, snowier weather here in the east, which would be fine by me. But then he goes on to say that the warm water right off the Alaskan coast may change things and make the east cold, along with the return of the dreaded polar vortex!
