Made me remember the time my girlfriend found and bought an antique FarmAll... she towed it home using the only vehicle she had at the time- a brand new Chrysler, lol

My wife's father enlisted into the Navy at the start of WW2, selected by Gen. Patten U.S. Army, to be his personal driver/ mechanic [ when in N. Africa , while driving in the desert , the Jeep took a direct morter hit, about a mile away there was a bombed out German halftrack, he canabalized some parts, installed them onto the Jeep and off they whent]. After the war, he took a position with the Marines ( base in Oceanside, Cal) as a civilian master mechanic superviser of the motor pool [ cars,Jeeps, trucks, tanks, amphibian craft, etc. ... He diagnosed the problem issue, then had mechanics make the repairs ] After he retired, he started to restore and maintain small tractors from the early 1920s to WW2 for the commercial flower growers in San Diego County. Many motor and/ or body parts were no longer available, so he built them himself by either re-configuring similar parts of any other brand / size of tractor or building / manufacturing them from raw steel. These tractors ran better and were more reliable than what new tractors one could buy. :bow
