What kind of plums have I got?

I was given two grocery bags of plums but they are not like any plums I've ever seen before. They are the size of small cherry tomatos and the color of red grapes. Can anybody tell me what variety they are. I'm going to make jam with them but MAN, thats a lot of little plums to de-pit. Wonder if a cherry/olive de-pitter will work on them?

Make the jam with the pits in then fish them out as you pot the jam up! It is miles faster while the jam is hot & the pits make it taste better. In fact a lot of people here in the UK leave them in for that reason -- but it is more dangerous for the teeth.........!!!!!
