What kind of tree/bush is this?

I have no idea what tree or bush this is. Have never seen anything like it before. Can anyone tell me what it is?

My best guess is Georgia Hackberry, Celtis georgiana

hmmm maybe a close relative? I looked up the name and it showed examples with similar leaves but more narrow...hmmm Is hackberry edible? It sure doesn't sound like it

We had a Hackberry tree close to the house that had little berries on it and the only thing I ever saw eat it was Starlings. They would flock on the tree and devour every nut/berry things then be gone. They make a horrid sound and I started setting off firecrackers when they come around, sends them on their way real quick.
