Rabbits. :he Aided and abetted by my stupid mule. :rant She pawed the fence and tore off the chicken wire that keeps the rabbits out of the garden. Mule is about to find a new home..........put MULE on list of PESTS. :somad

A friend of mine had 2. They needed continual hay or they would bray non stop.

You can send her to me, I'll give her a good home. You should put the chicken wire on the inside of the garden fence next time. :)
I put it on the outside and laid a foot of wire on the ground so the durned rabbits couldn't dig under. Confounded mule.

Nyboy, are you sure you had peaches on those trees this year? We had something strange happen - and none of our peach trees have any fruit- nor do others in the area. The flowering trees took a beating with the weird spring we had. I have apples and plums- but not a peach in sight.

That has to be explained to me.

I grew up in an important peach and pear growing area in southern Oregon. Okay, you may not be in a severe winter area but sub-zero only happened once that I can remember in that low elevation valley between the Cascades and the Coast ranges.

Surely, a milder NY winter would be easier on peach trees than an average NY winter.
