That raspberry does not look deformed to me Gardening with rabbits. Some varieties are naturally shaped like that.

Most of the raspberry cultivars we enjoy are the result of a hundred years or more of crossing east north american raspberries with european raspberries. But some varieties have asian raspberries in their ancestry, and some of those are normally more spherical.

It was because the first year all those little round pieces would fall apart. Last year I did get to eat a few and they were good. This year they have spread through the yard right through the grass and the ones in the row that will produce look healthy, so I will get to do a taste test.

Great! I really wanted to hear the good reviews for Fall Gold. No if I could just find some being sold locally I'd be happy. I'm also thing of those Cascade Golds too.

I do have a Latham I bought last year and it is coming back. Then I got a Heritage, but I've read it may not do well in my area. It's also looking a little shocked, I think frost may have touched it shortly after it was shipped to the store.

the difficult part is trying to decide where to put the red and gold since I have black raspberries growing strong and healthy without any maintenance or disease. I need to put them somewhere they won't be too close to each other.

Marshal, how far apart do you separate the varieties you grow?

I'm sure my mixed batch of 11 varieties in a 40 foot row are too close to each other, and with them spreading each at their own rate, it's gonna be a jungle around the berry bed real soon.
