. . .

This year I'm adding - cucumbers, to see how they do. . .
It could be olde age and memory loss . . .

It could be fatigue and memory loss . . .

Yeah, pulled the shallots today and remembered that cucumbers were left in that bed when I did that last year! So . . . the last of the cucumber starts went in there today! There are some late cuke starts in odd places in the other veggie garden. I haven't done that before but this little experiment worked fine in 2012 and here was where things stood in mid-August:

Late Cucumbers in the Onions

I am a little later this year, didn't plant them amid & amongst but here goes anyway!

I was considering trying some fall squash, Vfem. This would be a good year to experiment with that.

Awe heck, Steve, just call it memory loss and leave it at that. If you get into any more detail than that, you'll just forget what you decided anyway (at least that's what I do)! :barnie That seems like a good way to use up bits of space here and there. What do you do with all your cucs?

There is no question that, on average, I eat one out-of-hand everyday, Skeeter. And, that is a big American slicer . . . 2 of the little Beit Alphas.

Other than that, I can sell them.

Cuke consumption rises with the temperature, I've noticed. As long as you don't hold it up by its end and see the poor thing list over to one side . . ! It is just a matter of maintaining good soil nutrients & moisture levels. And, off they go!
