This was my strawberry section last year. The chickens actually got to part of it and ate/dug up some of my plants.

Yes, that's true. Mine were also at the top of a 3 block high wall that had Southern exposure. I'd neglected to consider how hot the soil could get.

You could run a drip hose over the blocks for watering so the soil doesn't dry out. I like the petunias idea, they smell so good.

I was looking for a small soaker hose type but the drip would work too!
