I am now sure was mistake she is sending receipt. She said it was her mistake and doesn't think it fair I pay for her mistake and asked if I thought paying half was fair. When they arrive tomorrow will send her full postage. Sad that now a days you can't trust someone straight off.

Must be a pretty big box. You will see the postage price printed on the sticker the USPS affixes in the corner.

Nurseries can ship for less than that. She may have been better off to use UPS. If you think the plants were worth about that much, I can see paying it.

Sounds like she was trying to be nice, but got in over her head. If it costs her too much, she'll probably not make such a generous offer again. I've received plant starts from friends on here and saw where they paid like $13 to ship it. There were times when money was tight for me and I would have said ouch and not been able to do the same, but now that I don't have to worry so much about every penny, I enjoy paying it forward.

Shipping is expensive. And USPS is getting extremely expensive.
Sounds like an honest mistake to me. I like sharing plants, but it's gotten expensive enough that I sometimes think it would be cheaper to just send money and let somebody buy the plant locally.

Wait until you get the package and see how big the plants is and what condition it's in. If you are happy with them and she sends you the receipt, I would pay it. But that's just me.

I've mailed salsa to a friend and pay more in shipping than what she could buy in the store. But it's made with love and I think it's really good. So for me to pay a lot to mail a pint is worth it to me. Perhaps shipping costs are more than what's inside the package but gifts are priceless.

She emailed me what looked like a real receipt from post office. Here is where some higher power got involved. I was looking for something in my desk, and found a money order for exact amount $30, I have no recall buying this money order. I was not going to argue fate, I ran to post office last night even though plantng coming today. I have to believe in people, if I was scammed oh well only $30.

Box arrived she paid $35.46 for postage. She needs to learn how to pack plants for shipping. I guess she was worried some leaves might had gotten broken, full size iris wrapped in bubble wrap in super large box. Box was 2 feet by 3 feet :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
