No RICH,

It was the British colonial system.

We are stuck, pre-1776. Even the diverse parts of the remaining British Empire have moved on.

"Countries which have not officially adopted the metric system (The United States, Myanmar, and Liberia)." Myanmar does NOT use the inch, the ounce, the bushel, or the peck. So, it's not joining the U.S. and Liberia in our intransigence. Think we might win back some company?

Well, buy 2 household type wash machines , install them side by side and be sure that they each are connected to their own water supply lines as well as separate drain lines . Then instruct your staff to not overload these machines. Your washing problems are solved. But wait... now you will have to buy another clothes dryer to dry the excess loads. But, now you will need another dryer and new 220 wiring and another exhaust line. Now add up all of those costs and compare to what one commercial wash machine costs.

I can solve that problem....get a wringer washer and require your employees to do wash the old fashioned way~each person doing their own wash at the end of the day. Bet they get REAL saving on towels and don't overload the wash at all if THEY are the one running that load. ;)

Never, ever suggest that an American use metric.

THANX RICH

AMEN! There's nothing easy about the metric system unless you've been indoctrinated into it for generations. Switching from a system we've used for hundreds of years is silly just because the rest of the world doesn't like it. We're different, we value that difference and we fight for that individuality....and the whole metric debate is just one of those things. I'm not one bit inconvenienced by using the same ol' system of measurement. ;)

The cabinets in our newer homes are based on the metric system. There are fillers on ether end as well as spacers wherever needed to make up for any distances from the construction of the walls. Even the adjustable shelf holes are 32mm on center.

Perhaps I can be forgiven for trying to be both.
