Oklahoma weather is a lot like yours. I used to grow it in spring as soon as I was sure the frosts were over. When it bloomed I would cut the flower heads and put them into a crock, pouring boiling vinegar over them. When I wanted to use a flower head in my jar of pickles I just took one out of the crock and plunked it into the pickle jar. The vinegar also makes a tasty salad dressing with the dill flavor.SweetMissDaisy said:I think it ends up just cooking in our summer sun.
Kind of like me. Once it hits 95, you might as well stick a fork in me, I'm done!
There's no use trying to grow them when the weather gets hot. Even if the seeds germinate the plants won't amount to much.
