Some people remove some bugs with the bare hand and kill them with a bare hand. I grew up doing that with a lot of things. Wipe your hands in the dirt to clean them if you must and use soap and water before you eat or as necessary.

We also have a heavier than usual spittle bug infestation. UGH. No garden hose to wash them off at the lot! May have to resort to a spray bottle on stream and pinch any offenders I find. :somad

The offenders will be in the foam, no need to wash the foam away. Just reach in there and pinch, they're generally a little smaller than a grain of rice.
