No BBQ to speak of. We will have a fire and the charcoal grill lit. Anyone coming can cook up whatever meet they want to eat. Then the rest is potluck style. Our lot sits pretty high and you can see fireworks displays an all directions. The closest on about 1-2 miles away.

Big holiday! We started the day with toast, moved on to rice and applesauce, and finished the day with more toast. A great time all around!

Otherwise it was a quiet day at home. I spent most of the early afternoon mowing. Then while I was taking a break, DH decided to do some mowing as well. I think there is gas in the oil line again. No one ran the mower very far because it was obvious was something wrong, so Sunday when DS gets here we'll get the gas back out . . . and hope.

The friend who was planning to fix my mower found that the engine he was going to use wouldn't fit so Friday I gave in and bought a Cub Cadet. Should have it sometime today. Now I have plenty of time to clean and re-assemble the B&S engine from my Simplicity.

Does the new cub cadet have a cup holder ?
Yes, it does.
- - - - and an umbrella?
Sam
Nope. No umbrella or sun protection of any kind. Luckily, I usually mow from shady patch to sunny area to shady patch. No great length of time spent without access to mowing around trees. Perhaps there is something accessory that will mount in the cup holder and provide shade for the driver.
