We followed signs today, down back roads, twisting and turning until we arrived at a big metal barn. It was the clearance of an antique store, moved to the barn. I found two old cookbooks and snatched them up. I love old cookbooks and these have not disappointed. I like to cook real food, not open a box, can, of tub of imitation crap. One of them was first published in 1931, last revised in 1943 and reprinted in 1953. It even has diagrams on how to skin a squirrel. It describes in detail how to kill and clean a turtle. LOL It is pre-Cornish Cross chicken and it tells of the different ages of chickens and how to cook them. I've just spent the last 3 hours reading it!
