I garden so that I can make gazpacho.
I garden so that I can surprise people with the unexpected... I recently purchased Joshua Tree seeds and I told my husband that my dream was to have someone walking by our house and exclaim "Did I just walk by a #$%& Joshua tree?!"
I garden because it helps keep my artistic tendencies busy.
I garden because doing physical work keeps me sane.
I garden because it seems like magic every time I put a seed in soil and it sprouts.
I started gardening because I wanted to learn to make Tom Kha Gai and Pad Prig Nuea... which meant needing specialty chilis and such. Buying all that stuff from the store was going to be a lot more expensive than buying seeds. Three years later it seems crazy to me that it all started with constantly craving Thai food.
