Garden Ornament
I recently was given the following receipe for tomatos, zuchinni and basil and I have been making it daily for about a week now. I can't believe how wonderful it is and what a great use for the last of my garden tomatos and zuchinni and basil. As always, the more you grow, the better this is.
2 med zucchini sliced thinly
garlic and herb seasoning
2-3 roma or any kind of ripe sauce tomatos, sliced
fresh basil leaves (torn or whole)
1/2 C grated cheese (I used parmesean and gouda but whatever you like and have on hand)
1/2 C tomato sauce
Here we go: Pre-heat oven to 375
Spray 8 x 8 glass pan with Pam
Place layer of zucchini on bottom of pan
Sprinkle with garlic and herb seasoning
Add layer of tomatos
Add fresh basil leaves
Sprinkle 1/2 of cheese
Repeat layer zuchinni, garlic, tomatoes, basil and cheese
Pour 1/2 cup tomato sauce over everything
Tent with foil to bake partially covered for 15 minutes at 375 degree oven
Bake 5-10 minutes uncovered for last 5-8 minutes.
I hope you enjoy this as much as we have.
