I can't answer to rescue dogs (we can talk about cats), but that basil looks gorgeous and the pesto patties looks wonderful!

I know, off subject, have to ask. What does your pesto taste like? Every time I make it, I get a anise flavor-hate anise.
since the dw is allergic to nuts, there are no pine nuts in it.
all she added was basil, fresh garlic and olive oil ran thought the food processor and froze it, also she did not add the parmesan cheese, will add that when we use it..

allergic to nuts wonder why she married me then..?
what is the quantity of oil, garlic and basil will have to make some!

Well I got time to weed today, so I can finally share some pics with you all!!! Also, there really wasn't much to look at until just recently! Tuesday, 6/11, I got all my plants out of their little starter pots and into the ground, yay! Way behind schedule, but better late than never :) Here's my tiny little plants in their tiny little pots:

Here's after I got them in the ground (don't look close, still weeds here...) You can see two of my upside down tomato hanging pots at the very far end of the garden. The big patch of dark green is a bit of clover I left, since it's blooming and attracting pollinators. Also, lettuce, potatoes, different varieties of squash, muncher cucumbers, snap peas, pole beans, cilantro, leeks, onions, rhubarb.

I also stuck some pots around the edge of the garden, with their own drippers from my irrigation system, for easy watering. Basil, hot peppers, acorn squash, lettuce.

A bed that I prepared this spring for quinoa...but had to change my mind after I got my seed packet and it says to plant in fall!! So in went potatoes and pole beans.

In the front of the house, herb beds line the walk, and flowers in front of the house. I have thyme, chives, lavender, garlic, and flag iris in the herb beds.

Finally, along the alley I stuck a bed with iris, persiacaria (shrub, not sure of spelling), raspberries & blueberries (not seen), columbine and African daisies.

And finally, our mutts Lucy (tall) and Charlie (little llaso apso) immediately after they got their summer haircuts the other night! By the way, we did not name them that, we adopted them with those names years apart!

Nice warm weather today, Heather!

Hey! How come my beans are no bigger than yours?? So. There's no special advantage to garden on this side of the hill?

Alley? You mean there are alleys in your part of Montana. I suppose they have to let the glacier travel thru somewhere . . .

digitS' ;)

All very nice and green and lovely. The two garden companions are wonderful, too :).

NewMountainGardener, what are those white wire panels? Where do you get them? Are they recycled? I like them that's why I want to know.

The wire mesh is display grid from the sports store where my husband works, they were going to throw it out :) it is AMAZING for the garden, i can greenhouse the whole thing by covering it with plastic, a couple panels run across the top and i hang the upside down tomatoes from them...they are so rigid i dont see them sag with the weight of the huge tomato pots at all. The seed starting pots i have wedge RIGHT in the opening of the grid, so i have a spare panel that i set up on sawhorses in the spring and stick the plants in when it gets warm enough.
