really like your lettuce trough and I love your hoop for the beans. I want to make one of those too!

baymule the hoops are two cattle panels, real easy, should be fun.
thistlebloom, those are bungee cords to hold lids in strong winds. May have to do something more if we get varmets. (2 legged or 4 legged.)
BJ my husband is new to bees. He made the hives this winter. Did a lot of research and bought 3# of bees in April. Here are two photos to show how busy they have been.

You can see some comb and a bit of honey between frames.

See the queen ? she is the larger bee.

I want to plant runner beans for shade but I know nothing about them ! Do they keep well during the summer? How many seeds did you plant to cover that arch? Thank you !

DH sowed the beans, this is our 1st year. We have planted The scarlet runners on a narrow trellis in backyard before. About 4 beans covered that. This is hoop is about 8 to 10 feet long. He planted the beans about 6 inches apart on each side so... doing my bad math... about 16 to 20 per side. I will be sure to post photos of what we get. Those we have had before did well all summer. Only producing beans late in the season and pretty scarlet blooms most of the summer.

Fun pick of me out picking some peas in the morning. Took a shot of the row of beans/melons/sunflowers. I know its hard to tell, but I liked the morning shadow of me walking around more then the garden photo itself.

My raised bed veggie garden is finally cleaned, prepped, and ready to finish planting. I will get some photos as soon as the lawn mower is back working again so the paths are neater.

Realizing that I am far behind many of the fine gardens I've been watching here because of my zone 4-5 location, I still am proud of what I've gotten done. I can't wait to show this year's garden.

Here is our little garden. Well, actually it's 2 little gardens. One by the sliding door into the backyard and one at the end of the house by the dog run. This is my first time posting pics, so here goes:

This is one of the beds in the "kitchen garden". it contains snap peas and some baby herbs.

A closeup of the snap peas - they are doing very well.

The bigger garden. You can see the cattle panel arch we put in for beans and cucumbers. These beds have asparagus, summer squash, beans, cucs, and peppers.

This is the tomato bed. It's off to the left of the beans, etc.
