I've used Working Hands, which seems almost like a wax.

And, I've used Bag Balm. Of course, as a kid with the cows but later, too.

It's that I have what are rashes that the dermatologist (at least) referred to as "psoriasis-like," like an allergic rash.

Well, I guess it's mostly online commerce these days. My visit to one health food store was conversation rewarding but that was about it.

No coffee substitutes other than herbal teas. Well, any grocery store has those ... until 1 hour drone delivery makes the supermarket obsolete .

I did find a Vitamin C lotion but there is no commitment as to how much of that or Vitamin E there is in it. DW is immediately interested in using it at night. Next, I'd like to see if DD wants to try it. This is my scheme to see if others oriented to lotion use find any benefit before I commit to some sort of regimen :).

I've heard that it takes 8 seconds for anything applied to your skin to reach your blood stream.

I hear a lot of things....

What I hear is often something like, "wha, wa, ah, wawa." ;). Of course, I'm often confused by what I see, as well.

You take television captioning ...

A most recent example was a commercial for a nicotine patch. The caption for the product name must have lingered into the next commercial. When I looked back at the screen, it was stuck right in the middle of a young woman's forehead! But, the bottom of the screen said that she was selling Dior perfume...

Steve, I think you're thinking of cod liver oil as a spring tonic.

No, he's on the money. My dad used to have to take castor oil each spring, whether he needed it or not. It was thought to remove intestinal parasites and act as a spring "purge" of sorts. Back then it wasn't the odorless, colorless, tasteless stuff you find at the pharmacy today...it was dark, stinky, thick and nasty, from all reports.

Violets are a great source of Vitamin C. You could eat them raw, make a tea, or even a poultice. Have you tried an elimination diet to see what you may be eating that is causing the reaction?

Oh and I forgot to comment about your title... As far as I know, our skin (the biggest organ we have) is porous so it absorbs very well.

No, I don't believe that I tried diet as a treatment nor was I trying avoidance. I just outlived the flare-ups.

There was a time when I was more sick with each occurrence and those episodes became much more frequent. Instead of problems a couple times a year, I was in pretty bad shape every few weeks. Just the frequency may have been why I was going down hill.

From that time and about 3 years out, the flare-ups became less frequent. I was back to a couple times a year. Then, say 6 years out, it was every couple of years. Then, the seriousness of this illness finally stopped. I've lived over half my life beyond the time when I thought my life might come to an end.

I've been doing better with the fruits and veggies over the last 20 years but an improving health began about 20 years before that. Everyday, in every way ... ;). Well, no. I'm getting olde. ;)
