today it is still cool this morning, but we're making our way towards the upper 50sF by now. heavy dewfall, very sparkly out there, Mom will want to get out and mow early anyways, i always recommend waiting until it dries out a bit more but then it pushes mowing into the warmer part of the day. either way it will get done somehow. p.s. i still hate mowing...

Storming here yet again. Over 40,000 homes currently with no power in the Houston area. My road is flooded again but power is still on. My home is dry, it doesn’t flood, counting my blessings. This storm is dumping over the watershed for both the Trinity and San Jancinto rivers. People who flooded just weeks ago may flood again if this keeps up.

Oh, tomorrow is the first day of HURRICANE SEASON!

It's almost 12.30am here and 11c according to the forecast. But It feels much warmer to me maybe because there is no air flow outside tonight

It's times like this that reminds me of a series we had over here called "Under the Dome ".

We are going to get about 1.4" of rain today. We scrambled around late afternoon to make sure things are buttoned up. I'm glad I didn't plant my garden yet. The rain would have beaten the seedlings down flat!
Same here! We are also expecting wind gusts up to 25 knots. Looks like a good day to be indoors!

Yesterday an atmospheric river reached us, which is apparently very unusual for June; these intense rain events typically happen during the late fall or winter, from October through January. There's 3" of rain in my measuring cup from yesterday. That's a lot. The heavy rain will be back again tomorrow--but for the moment we have beautiful sunshine and some patches of bright blue sky. Summer is expected to start on Wednesday. ;)
