I'm not kidding ... they probably aren't either. Yeah, it's snowing here at home but Those Cascade Mountains!

We are expecting a cyclone tonight with super high winds and some rain!

We made it through the storm. We had a super low pressure system with the cyclone. I've never seen the barometer drop so much! I think a lot of it missed us because it really wasn't that bad. My son lives in town and he lost his power.

Hopefully all of the mariners heeded the warnings and brought their ships to safety, since the intense low pressure system was located well offshore. Evidently we would have had massive damage had this bomb cyclone made landfall. Thankfully that was not the case. We lost power for about six hours, along with about a quarter million other folks in British Columbia. Today and tomorrow will bring a few showers, but should be kind of pleasant. Maybe that garlic will finally get in the ground.

The expected high winds petered out for us. Yes, there were some power outages in Battle Ground and north, but we were fine. I had my glass mexican candles ready tho. Northern WA got hit much harder with the winds.

With variances between +43f and -43f there’s something for everybody. We’re still hovering in the single digit minus nights with daytime temps no more than +10f. Suppose to change next week?

The big chill remains over Alaska!

Beware, the cold remains entrenched over the state. Watch out, wear layers and try to keep warm when outside! It is cold over the state of Alaska. Interior locations are the coldest with daytime and nighttime temperatures not going above zero, which will likely be the case through the weekend...

we have a little bit of snow on the ground today. not sure if we're going to get much more or not. forecast doesn't specify so i would think not much. coolest night forecast is Thursday evening with 16F. some days over freezing. in other words, pretty much normal...

Unless you @flowerbug are getting lake effect snow, you won't see much in the next few days. We are getting the north end of a system this afternoon, which will blanket St. Louis to Indianapolis to Cincinnati. We will get some flurries late this afternoon, just in time for driving to dinner (20 min north).

The shortest  Celsius thermometer has been all that has been needed for the most recent 2 weeks. On the earliest dates, the mercury hit 50⁰f (10⁰C) once. Yesterday, it didn't rise above freezing but there have a number of morning lows at 28⁰f (-2⁰C). Much above normal!

But, that only tells part of the story. Only on 4 days was that thermometer showing more than 10⁰f different (4⁰C) between high and low. Cloud cover often reaching to the ground characterizes our landscape. Dreary! Just now, the sun breaks through the clouds for the first time in days — motivating me to write this. I'd better enjoy this moment because there is a new moon and with this many cotton candy clouds, I will be lucky to see a single star shining through tonight .
