Today's forecast is saying that it's 7c but feels like 4. The humidity is currently at 88.
The sky is completely overcast.

It's not a particularly pleasant day but at least it's not raining.

we now have snow and rain in our forecast tonight and tomorrow. not too bad temperature wise today with a high of 37F, but then starting tomorrow things drop and into next week some nights forecast to get below 0F (lowest so far in the forecast is -6F but that can change between now and then...)

11.4⁰F is -11.4⁰C

No, it is only 18⁰f (-8⁰C) this morning. But, Monday AM is supposed to be colder and I will be looking to mark the 11.4 moment .

The not especially cold-hardy potted plants in the greenhouse are all on the floor, huddled together and covered with a tarp. It doesn't look like I will feel the need to cover them with 2 tarps. This technique has carried rosemary and lemon verbena through much colder Winters.

It was a comparatively warm day today, low 40's F - which is a good thing, because I had to thaw out my sub pump discharge hose. It had become clogged with ice in the sub-zero blast earlier in the week...

... which AGAIN caused the lines to one of my sub pumps to blow out, and to flood part of the basement. The second time this has happened in the past year; but at least I heard the water splashing & turned the pump off in time to limit the flooding to one room. The break is deep in the sump, so I'll have to wait for the remaining pump to lower the water level there before I can repair the problem.

Bitter cold coming, several days of below-zero weather - probably the coldest days this winter. Around -12F Monday night, and wind chills of -35F or lower Monday & Tuesday. We might not even get above zero for a couple days. Brrrr!

TOTAL.YUCK!!!
Bitter cold coming, several mornings of below-zero weather, then high's in the low teens, very cold and damp.
Fortunately NO snow or rain to make any more ice than was created yesterday with high's in the 40's and some light rain.
High winds and gusts to dry out the ground but make it feel colder.
I dunno if it's my knee recovery pain and pain the other leg but I am Really feeling it this winter!!
Ponies are turned out. They go in to the barn again tomorrow night for several days. Glad that I have warm and dry stalls for them.
Heated hose was working when it dipped down to 0 degrees F this last week, but there were ice chunks. If the end freezes up I may have to carry 1/2 buckets from the basement up the 5 steps and 300 feet to the barn.
Difficult, but not impossible.
Tomorrow morning I need to throw ice melt on the cement outside of the back door and around the picnic table so I don't slip.

The next 4 nights it'll be -30C/-22F. THANK GOODNESS it will only be -20C/-4F in the daytime. Maybe I'm getting older, but when I go out in -30C my lungs don't feel right breathing in air that's so cold.

We finally have a week of sun, after what feels like four months of rain. Life is good.
