I bought a heated blanket a few years ago and it was useless. I called to say as much and in al fairness to the company they immediately said to return it, it must have had faults with that particular make.

My best friend has been my electric hot bottle, it's been a god send.

I'm with you on that one!
I am big on changing out of my outside gear right when I get inside, BUT, sometimes you are warm and you just want to Stay warm, so it takes awhile before you start to sweat inside and Have to change.
I am loving last year's heated blanket, my teal one. DH stole my other heated lap blanket, the red one, last year, to use on his feet at night when it's cold out.
I bought him a new one for Christmas, it's grey and bigger, heats for 6 hrs, and I don't know How he was warm with the red one bc I took a nap recently with the red one on top and it was pretty much a goner.
I also bought heated blankets for eldest DD and youngest DD--middle DD already had a full bed one. Youngest DD got a lavendar one that heats for up to 10 hrs, and covers her whole bed.
Eldest DD got a blue one, same, goes for up to 10 hrs, she hasn't used it Yet, but after a cruise to the Bahamas, coming back tomorrow night to temperatures close to 0 degrees F, I am thinking she'll take it out of the package and use hers, too.
We gave one to our office mate. It's impossible to buy anything for her. You mention something she'd like and she has bought it for herself next day.
I said to DH, everybody wants/needs a heated blanket, so we bought her that.
She was sitting underneath it every night since, except She went on same cruise.
I'm betting that the local electric meters are spinning tonight bc of our heavy electric blanket use.
My kids were both big fans of plug in blankets until we got them (and me) weighted blankets. I will never be able to live without one of these again. Best invention since locomotion.
