The Snow doesn't bother me, it's the mix with ice! šŸ„¶
Can't afford to fall down right now!
Haven't been out yet, gave ponies extra hay yesterday to buy some time, temperature at 29 degrees F, which means that they can access water, just a skin on ice on the new 30 gallon tank.
I will Probably prep the stalls this morning, then brave the snow at about 4PM and put them in their stalls, which will probably be until Monday, since DD's are going out of town this weekend.
I have enough bedding to see me through the rest of this winter, but if I fall short, I can pick up a few bags of shavings or pine pellets with my car, which is convenient.
UNfortunately, we sit on a historic slip of ice storm real estate, MUCH worse than several feet of snow, IMHO.

It was -2f (-19ā°C) and 17ā°f (-8C) in the unheated greenhouse, after a sunny day, yesterday.

Onion seed in the soil mix in there but it was covered and on the floor.

The sub-zero F finally arrived here and I am not disappointed that, at the moment, it's not expected to be any colder. A record was way beyond reach but the thermometer dipped nearly a dozen degrees F below the average low. Lowest temperatures are officially experienced 6 weeks earlier than this, on average.

Wellll, no real ice. Just that our miserly county used to be out salting when it was snowing like tonight, but instead, they will wait until it has stopped to do anything about it.
Probably end up with 2-3 inches of snow out of this. We are home, but the 12 mile drive home from DD's house took 40 minutes.
Some yahoo in a van had to pass us. I Used to feel sorry for the cars and drivers who ended up in ditches. NOW, I realize that the same have been passing me on slick roads until they hit the brakes too hard, so they do it to themselves.
Not like I wouldn't stop to offer help like take them home or call for assistance.
But, I reserve that right to laugh at them (if they aren't injured,) for their foolishness.
In bad weather I drive like I have goldfish in a bowl on the passenger seat.

The area schools called school off for today last night. But then I think this fizzled a bit! We did get 5 or 6 inches by dinner time. But a.m. was light snow. The winds were only a breeze. It did pick up after 3 p.m. for a bit. The news showed maps of snow-covered roads in our area. Oh well. The grandsons enjoyed the snow and got to finally run the ATV with plow. 1st time this winter.

still lightly snowing here this morning. everything has a nice fresh layer of snow on it so it looks very nice out there. how it should look in winter...

20F and going to be windy later blowing all this snow around. i think i'm just going to let it do all of that that it wants before i go out and shovel any of it myself. it's more efficient some days to wait. :) yep, that's a good story and i'm happy with it. :)
