The atmosphere river of pouring rain has almost come to an end. Soon I will need a canoe to get thru to the northeast pasture. The rain sounded like rocks falling and rain falling sideways onto the ground. Lots of power outages and fallen trees. Power has been off and on for 2 days. Electrical appliances thankfully are on protective surge units. Every time we loose electricity all the lights and tv goes out. When power comes back on the lights tv power restarts with varying degrees of start me up snd reloading issues.
We are entering a heat wave at 52F today. 9 days til spring. 😉

Another cold front arrived, so it's again cold and wet. I kept trimming and cleaning during rain pauses. Compared with previous years, I am much more relaxed as I don't have to worry about young seedlings in the greenhouse (as there is nothing yet).

Meanwhile, I am 'hunting' in my own garden for those self-seeded plants, they are resistant, strong, and full of life. A lot of fun.

Things are evidently not as bad as in @Shades-of-Oregon 's neighborhood.

We were having 53mph wind gusts this morning. with some rain. The rain has stopped again and the wind is a little tamer right now. There are some electricity outages not far away but not all that many households are affected. It's unpleasant to be outdoors.

The Weather Service report had the snow level very high but it was snowing through the pass into Montana but just above freezing air temperature so things were going okay there. The pass through the Cascades has four inches of new snow adding up to about 6 feet of snow pack. Altho it is much lower elevation, temperatures are about as cold with "slush."

digits’ same issue here. Wind gusts to 52mpr. The tree limbs from the 80’-100’ trees that have fallen everywhere across the pasture and some about 4” in diameter have literally planted themselves sticking straight up in the soil. Roof on barn is covered , home and out buildings . I went out during rain breaks and cleaned up the southeast side of the pasture.

Some trees fallen in the wooded area next to each others hanging preciously sounds similar to an elephant call.
Neighbors came by to check on us and heard noise in the woods and thought it was an injured wild animal.

Loss of power the last few days and trees fallen across the roads blocking the way out . Lots of chain saws going today. Everyone’s is diggin out of one jam or another.

Stay safe digits’.
