From 19°F to -4°F . But the climate is changing. Maybe even to rain. We like 19°F to 14°F . All skiing. Parks have excellent ice rink for those who like to skate. Kids love ice mountains. They play in the snow, build a snow fort, snowman ... In short, it's fun. In addition, the entire country has a Christmas vacation of 8 or 10 days.
Once Santa Claus overshot my house completely on his rounds to deliver presents on Christmas eve.

I had mailed a list of what I was hoping for weeks earlier!

The elves at his North Pole office must have been aware of my disappointment and notified Saint Nicholas.

I received a card from him with his picture from his residence. It reveals something of his weather preferences.

Obviously, the North Pole headquarters is not staffed by the upper echelon after the December deliveries ...

Woke up to a little snow! But it's wet and sloppy and shallow stuff, and already melting.

Kid#1 says the ski mountain will open first week of December, so they've at least been getting snow that sticks.

So far, any given week can have sunny days that climb as high as the 70's and windy nights dropping as low as the high 20's.
But that's Virginia weather. :idunno

More snow Wednesday, the WS says.

Yes, it will be in the shade of the house awhile but at right at freezing, our 1"(?) stuck in the tree branches and has melted before hitting the ground. The sun was out for like one hour and everything in the open, has melted.

At 8:30, I showed up in an office parking lot and it was so strange to see a snow plow there! He hadn't plowed, wasn't plowing, and I think he was just indoors negotiating future commitments from the management. Probably hoping that the building manager had a difficult drive to work. Either that or he hurt his back getting that snowblade on and was at the MD's office.

It just looks yucky outside, we've had so much rain we haven't been able to get out to rake leaves, we haven't had a killing frost yet, but soon. It's much cooler outside now that the snow is further down Mt. Benson, the mountain in this picture.

The older part of the city. We live about 2 miles to the left of this picture. When the snow is off Mt. Benson in the spring it's time to plant the tomatoes :).

Wet, wet, wet and windy for the second day but the wind is straight from the south and in the low 50s. Tomorrow? Getting some afternoon sun and 50s. Great weather for late November in WI.

we have not had a lick of rain since the hurricane, the last 24 hrs we have received a little over a inch, good lord we needed it mainly up in the mountains were the fires are...
looking at the 15 day forecast, it's going to be a roller coaster in temperatures, guess it's time to really think about putting plastic up. i have said that before..
they are calling for a chance of snow dec 12th and 14th and some lower mid 20's in between....

"Normal" November continued with rain showers and snow now and then on most days. "Too much" wind has been a constant but nothing at all to the "extreme" levels.

This pattern should hold through tomorrow with a Sunday afternoon around 40°f. We are told that this may be the last time we have above freezing temperatures on any day this week, except that snow may fall next weekend and temperatures should rise during that event. That snow won't likely go away for the next 2 months unless something "remarkable" happens. Sometimes, we have early November snow lasting until March. Personally, I'm ready for our muddy ground to freeze and stay frozen.

Current weather would be seen as so "unpleasant" that @baymule would not even consider putting her toe into this corner of the world. If she was so unfortunate as to be dropped off by accident, I can imagine her stowing away if necessary on the first departing airplane, heading south!

Baymule - Just be careful on that southbound flight that the destination is well into Arizona or New Mexico, if it doesn't actually get you back into your beloved Texas. North of there, all areas of the Rockies will be having "normal" to above snowfall and "normal" to below temperatures over the next two weeks. You wouldn't want to be stranded in Wyoming or Colorado trying to escape the Inland Northwest ..!
