People mixing up lose vs. loose drives me batty. I know there are several others that drive me similarly crazy but I can’t remember them off the top of my head.
Edited to add: board vs. bored
There’s 1.5 inches in the rain gauge this morning. We’re supposed to get another line of storms tonight and they are predicting we’ll get another inch with that round.
I’m also interested in knowing. The only site I know of for this is the NWS site and it’s nearly impossible to use since they redid it a few years back.
Pouring rain here. We gotten over an ich and it’s not supposed to end until around midnight. There was already minor flooding in some areas when I was on my way home around 3pm it’s almost 7pm now. I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it too work in the morning.
It’s warm and dry today. We’re supposed to hit a high of 76 on Thursday. The rain is supposed to start tomorrow and happen on and off through Friday. They are saying as many as 6 inches of rain are possible. We’ve already had flooding in some areas from the last round of rain on Thursday!
I’ve got my tomatoes and peppers started and some thyme. I pulled the weeds out of the pots outside and I’ll loosen the soil when it’s a bit dryer. I’ll need to clean up the blueberry bed and get the lettuce and radish’s going this weekend.
No tornadoes here last night. Several in neighboring counties though. The wind and rain were pretty impressive though. We got 3 inches last night and some of the gusts were around 50mph. No real damage from it though. Just a few limbs down.
I saw that video too! I didn’t see where it was though. I thought it had been picked up by a tornado or something. It looked like something off of Twister.
To my surprise the potatoes seem to have already healed over for the most part. So now I’m contemplating whether or not I can get at least some of them in the ground before the storm hits. The problem would be gathering enough leaf mold from the woods... I’ve got about 5 hours though so maybe. I...
I just finished getting the onion sets in the ground. I had to hand dig a 2x10 area and shoveled some finished compost in. I spread some straw over but will have to finish Friday because the wind is too strong. I got 60 onion sets in the ground though. This will be my second attempt at growing...
They’ve upped our severe risk for tomorrow the wind is holding steady at around 15mph.(24 kph) with higher gusts. I was trying to spread straw outside but kept getting hit in the face so I gave up.
A high of 72F today. It’s bright and mostly sunny. I’ve enjoyed the clear weather but it’s starting to get smoky from all the brush fires so I’m looking forward to the rain tomorrow even if it brings a chance of severe weather. We’re under a wind advisory right now.
Another 5am coffee day. There was another dead mouse in the heating system. Unfortunately this one got dismembered and flung into the heating coils where it made a lovely smell. We haven’t had it happen in so long I forgot what it smelled like and was worried they had chewed the wires. Luckily a...
