The veggie garden is down to a few lone tomato plants, but the peppers are going like gangbusters. As much as I hate the coming w-&^%$, it feels good to clean things up.
I've grown lemon balm for a while, and used it dried for tea, but I didn't realize that it's much more potent when it's fresh. With my recent insomnia & anxiety, I've been making a tea with the fresh leaves and notice a pretty distinct improvement in my mood (although it doesn't help me sleep...
Too funny! According to DH, I hide stuff from him. :D When he unloads the dishwasher, I can't decide if he puts the dishes away randomly to annoy me, or because he really doesn't know where anything goes.
He's SO MUCH better today! And DH was wayyyy wrong about where we needed to give him his shots (thank God). :D Never thought I'd say it, but I'd much rather give a goat a shot than a drench. It's way less traumatic for all of us involved. We had to go on "pee watch" when we brought him...
@catjac1975 - I felt like a waiter this morning, bringing out a sampling of molasses, applesauce & peanut butter to see what he preferred. Peanut butter was the winner, until I put the meds in it of course! I told DH that it's too bad we weren't trying to do this with the dog. With her, you...
@canesisters - This information is all coming via DH, so I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done just yet. Waiting on the actual discharge instructions from the vet. :) @bobm - I understand your perspective, and that has been my opinion on any issues we've had with our meaties/layers, but...
We tried the tasty treat route this morning and he was wise to it. DH took him to the vet, and apparently it's not a stone but some kind of physical issue that's causing his problem. He's having surgery as we speak, but DH was horrified that now we have to give him a shot in his *ahem* nether...
So my poor little guy, Lucky, seems to have a urinary stone. :( I feel horrible about it because I know it's because I wasn't feeding him right, but he's doing a little better than yesterday. My wonderful vet left an Acid Pack at the office for me on Saturday night, so I've been drenching him...
The camping article was so interesting. It doesn't surprise me, but I'd figure it would take longer than a week. I don't have any caffeine past noon, and I've taken ativan to help me sleep. It worked at first, but then got less effective. Plus, I always felt so groggy the next morning. The...
Holy cow! I just played that and scared the crap out of my cat! :D DH & I have been hearing this weird bird call in the evening that sounds kind of like a horse neighing. Turns out it was a screech owl. :)
Oh my gosh, DH & I were just talking about this the other day! Well, for me, not necessarily for him. He likes his job well enough because it affords him time off in the summer. Mine does, too, but I'd still rather make a living working for myself.
We do have plans, tho, to make this...
Wow! As much as I hate to hear others have the same sleep troubles, it does feel better to know I'm not alone! @catjac1975 - you are so right about it being lonely to be up all night! Last night I tried a mix of valerian, passionflower & this hormone called GABA that my naturopath...
So I have always been a bad sleeper, but since Monday I have not been able to get more than 4-5 hours of sleep a night. Needless to say, I'm the walking dead right now. :\ I've done all the usual stuff (meditation, yoga, benadryl, melatonin). Anyone have something unusual that they've done...
I love morning glories, but MAN are they invasive around here. Didn't stop me from planting Grandpa Ott (gorgeous rich purple) in my garden tho. :) Sometimes it's worth the pain.
I have a row of 4 sky pencil hollies that I planted back in May/June. One is half dead now, and the other is about a quarter dead. I'll get a pic, but really all you'd see is a plant with half of its leaves dead. Anyone know of common problems with them? Naturally, I have no idea where my...
Ughhhh, I would cry! That's so frustrating!! We had trouble with a neighbor's dog attacking our chickens until we made them pay for the damage. It's amazing how people don't even consider the consequences of their actions, or just don't care. :(
This is the time of year when I just want to rip everything out because it's gotten so ragged. :D Your tomatoes look about like mine. I get so tired of tying them up after a while that they start to sprawl. :)
