I got my first spaghetti squash out of the garden today. Roasted it and will be topping it with a sauce made from the garden, tomatoes, yellow squash, broccoli, eight ball, eggplant and onions and garlic touch of shiraz and topped with fresh grated parm, garlic bread and tiramisu for dessert...

How funny i had this growing by the chickens smaller yard. It got little melon looking things but they had terrible pokey spines also. Hope someone knows what it is, it kinda looked like my watermelon when it first started growing.

I just wash them well toss with some olive oil then place on a shallow pan cover with foil and cook at 350F for 45-60 min or until tender. Peel and enjoy... Don't forget to saute the greens with some olive oil and garlic

You basically let them dry out. Then plant the seeds VERY early in the spring and use the tuberletts you get from those plants as your seed potato. I googled potato seed and there were several sites with info, I just did a quick read through so please double check.

lesa The golden ones are called Golden Beets. They are from Lake Valley Seed. I can tell you that they are yummy. I'm hoping to pickle some but after tasting them roasted mmmmm :drool .Maybe I'll just plan on pickling the next planting!
