What a fun thread! Out little town (last census 172) doesn't have many, but we had about 13 visits. A lot of parents drive their kids from house to house. It got pretty cold in our neck of the woods on Halloween! DH dressed up in his Admiral's uniform that DD made for him a few years back. She ordered the wool for it, so he was pretty warm. I rehashed my pirate that I like to wear to my Salsa parties, and the jacket is wool, and with wool socks in heavy leather Cavalry boots I stayed fairly warm, too.
Being very NON-PC, we smoked cigars and I drank margaritas while we waited sitting in our Adirondak gliders, as one does, since the screened in/windowed in porch is our outside room and we are there sometimes even in the mid winter.
We gave out full sized hershey bars and you know that the leftovers keep well. Our chocolate stash is now full again.
I had my Halloween lights from the beginning of October so that the town KNEW that I was serious.
Halloween decorations that live in a green tub are ALL down. Now I wipe down the walls and put up the Christmas lights and their timer for the next few months.
