Outstanding gardens. Not only are they well laid out, but weed free. Seeing the labor you put into them, it makes me feel like a lazy bum.... Keep it up.

Thank you!

Well, not weed free. I did kill some more this morning amongst the flowers & peppers. Put some fertilizer on the peppers now that there's some chance they will be warm enuf to grow. There are Lilliputian peppers there, for sure!

Sweet peas are in the near corner of the flower corner of the big veggie garden - there are about 10 blooms out there right now! My 1 lone garden pea trellis is in the distance in the little veggie garden, near the neighbor's berry vines. I've got snow, snap & shell peas all in that 1 bed. I'm pea-deprived this year with 1/3rd or less of those things than usual. Just had too much trouble with the peas in '11 but the few of them are doing fine, this year :).

Well, weed "free" is-in my world-a subjective thing. I'm never free of weeds because there is always some lurking under my straw mulch but if I see vegetables first and have to look for weeds, it's free of weeds for me..........

New . . . or, nearly new . . . pictures in the 1st post!

I have a little trouble keeping up with this thread. It seems that when I have a new picture of 1 garden, I don't yet have a picture of the others!

So, I get behind. Mostly, I am behind with the flower gardens & you won't see too much color. The plants are doing what they should do -- it is only me who is behind the 8-ball ;). I'll catch them at a better moment soon.

Steve :)

Everything is looking wonderful Steve! And so abundant!
My little patch of sweet peas has only been blooming for about a week, I got them in pretty late.
Your potatoes are already half harvested? What varieties have you dug?

Only 2 potato varieties this year, Thistle'.

Yukon Golds, which are in the process of being dug (I'm slow), and Sangre.

The Sangre are back in that early morning shade and don't seem to want to give up. They'll get another week or 2. I'll plant some bok choy seed tomorrow on the first part of the Yukon bed that were dug first. That ground should be well-settled now and it is time to think about fall greens :p.

Steve, did you start all those snap dragons from seed in your greenhouse? They look beautiful. How many did you plant?

Lesa, I do like this time of year but, boy, is it hot! By mid-afternoon, even sitting in the shade becomes uncomfortable on some days.

All of the warm-season plants are growing, growing. It is kind of like "just don't allow them to stumble" along the way. The gardens are well-watered and I'll be out with some fertilizer today & tomorrow - then more water.

The joys of having a greenhouse of nearly 200 square feet, Mary! I can populate all of the garden growing space with plants - every square foot, if I want to. The snaps are in flat inserts of 72 plants. Two flats per 100 square feet - that's why they need a trellis because they are mostly growing straight up.

Some folks say that having a small heated greenhouse gives you an "instant garden." I suppose. It certainly could work 100% that way. Of course, the season begins 2 months before I could otherwise get a seed in outdoors :).
