Hello Major! Gotta love the potatoes, I was sick for a little while and when I finally felt up to it I planned a nice meal( other than the emergency meals in the freezer) opened up the vegetable drawer to find 5-8 inch plants growing from my spuds.!!:barnie took them out and planted them and within a few days had a frost. Thought I had lost them but as of now I have 2 garden boxes full of 6+ tall plants!!!:drool No idea what the reds are but the white potatoes are Yukon Gold. May I'll start my second planting in Bags.
didn't see your blackberry's do you still have them? thanks to a great teacher I now have 4 trellises of blackberries and one young kiwi!!:celebrate

good to see you honeycomb, yeah all the blackberries are gone they had a virus so figured it was time to pull them, planning on planting a couple more just have not decided on what type yet.
make sure you keep them well trained on the trellis and this fall cut back all the dying canes <floricanes>.

question for you what type of kiwi do you have ? you need a male and female for it to fruit..!!!

the potatoes are doing really good in the raised bed did a second covering over the weekend.
glad to hear you have potatoes in the ground as well. when you have a chance love to see your gardens.

after dealing with my nightmare down at work today, checked on the green bibb lettuce seeds i planted last weekend ..nope not a one coming up. this was starting to piss me off, so planted some more... after coming in looked at the date on the packet, well there you go their 3 years old..would be a great <common sense out the window post>.... on my part. had a good laugh will replant with new seed that i purchased in the next couple days...

otherwise the beds are slowly coming to life...

Did you ever wonder about that name, "Bibb?"

There is quite a bit more to the story but there was a Major Jack Bibb in Frankfurt, Kentucky. "MajorBibb"

Just the story on Butter, Boston and Bibb must be a little complex. Even Johnny's Seed separates the Bibb from the Butterheads. Hard to fault them with such a selection but I don't think they needed to do that.

Here is a produce company talking about the differences, (link).

Hello major, good to see you as well! of course your garden looks wonderful. My potatoes are about the same size as yours and I have to raised beds full of them. I have the next batch hiding in the drawer for planting in a few weeks. I don't have all my trellises up been ill. but I will start working on that very soon.
the kiwi dies. so I guess I really didn't need it. I don't like it anyway but my daughter does I'll get her 2 plants for her house.
I can't figure out how to put photos up. good to talk as always

yeah kiwis are very difficult to grow in our area, tried 3 different times the first 2 they died 3rd time was a charm but only took them 10 years to start fruiting.
if i only known this forehand probably would have never planted them.....was ready to remove them all together, but 3 years ago they started to produce so they get to stay.. for now.
