I have some Gigandes on their way to me too. What did you think of them @aftermidnight ?
As some of you know one of my contacts found them and she's popping some in the mail on Monday. She found them yesterday in a local Polish deli, the very first one she tried maybe the force was with her or maybe the luck of the Irish , they buy them in bulk and repackage, it's the only dry bean they sell. When they arrive I'll do a germination test to see if they're viable. They say this is a big bean, Gigandes and Salmos Greek Lima (not a Lima) are the biggest white seeded runners I have, we'll see if this one compares in size.

Just finished my grow out list for this year...
after looking them up and reading their description they sound like some beans which a friend sent to me some years ago. i grew them that next season, but they were eaten by deer and i had to replant. i don't think i had much from those. i still have a few seeds around here somewhere. they are getting old enough i should refresh them (inside the fenced gardens this time ). he called them Jumbo, but they are not bush or half runner so it could be a generic name because they do get big pods.
