Yep, that was what it was here yesterday! Daughter and I took the day to clean up the yard a bit, water some trees and pull some weeds. We also cleaned the chicken coop and hubby popped home early from work to see us in the yard...he decided he need to start extending the coop run and get some more room for more chickens.

So it was a wonderful day of outside chores... its only 70 today.. but still sunny... so I'm heading outside here shortly again.

Anyone else have some great fall chores to get done the last few days?! How's your weather?! I know I see a lot of people are already getting snow!!!

Rain. Then more rain. And a little more rain. All followed up by RAIN! We got about 7 inches in the last 24 hours. My yard is totally flooded. there is no where to walk without stepping in water almost to your ankels.

The rain has finally subsided and the wind has picked up, dropping our temps from 66 this a.m. to 55 currently.

I have had such a case of the blah's from all this rain.... :/

Rain here in central Mo. A bit windy and leaves are falling off the trees. We had a place prepared for our blueberry starts when they arrive, our daughter covered it while it was still dry, so hopefully we can set them out when they get here. :tools

No sun . . . no sun!!

Temperatures are mild, high 50's with lows around 40F. But, there was only 1, just ONE, sunbreak thru the entire day yesterday. I'm sure it didn't last more than 5 minutes!

It's 10am here now and the skies are uniformly gray. When weather moves more-or-less directly from the west, we get Seattle's weather. Usually, winds come from the southwest and moisture is lost over a few more hundreds of miles of mountains and deserts. That gives us sunshine or storms . . . right now, clouds, clouds, and more clouds.

I have a cold . . . so this is somewhat comforting today but not inspiring in the least.

I picked up some "oops" paint at Lowes yesterday so gave the chicken coop roof two good coats today. It's 75 and sunny but the clouds are rolling in and more rain forecast for tommorrow. I think it's time to go and dig and see what the sweet potatos did.

After frost warnings for several days earlier in the week it has warmed back up, but I know this is the last hurrah for the season. Jack Frost will be here soon! The leaves are just beginning to fall, the garden has been mostly harvested, a few more peppers hopefully and maybe one more butterbean picking. Although I am somewhat sad to see the end of the growing season, I am a bit glad as well. I need a break and so does the garden. :)

We are making up for lost time in the rain department. I'm not too horribly depressed about it, as it gives me plenty of time to goof off in the kitchen. :D

But when I do get a nice day . . . it seems like the days are so very much shorter, so I can only realistically cross one garden chore off my list per nice day. :/

Its a bit cloudy this morning, but I think we are looking at around 70 again today. Its wonderful weather still to get a few last things done. Like finish the run extention on the chicken coop! (Found more free wood and might as well use it! )

Finally have some sunshine. So now maybe the mud will dry up and I can get on with the fun stuff!

We didn't get anywhere near what BDR did, but it came with north winds and highs in the low 40s. Brrrr. So now I have a clean(er) house. I did go plant some buddleia in the drizzle yesterday. Needed to get them out of the kitchen sink before they committed suicide by crunching kitties.

Can hardly wait to see what these babies do when they get big! Maybe we all will have to wait to see them when they get big.;)
