I had a customer who delivered boxed cakes, from his storage unit. When they were outdated- he would toss them in my dumpster. The crows had a field day! I would walk out to dump garbage- and yell at them...They would just sit there and look at me. Not at all scared by my presence. They had no intention of flying away from that cake!

I SAW THIS TODAY!!!
I feed the crows outside the scalehouse so they'll hang around - just 'cause they're neat.
Anyway, I was sitting there this afternoon working on AP and I saw one 'buzz' the porch - which is right behind my computer screen. They've been making a LOT of close fly-bys lately so I didn't think much of it. Well he must've landed on the handrail right at the door frame because a moment or two later he leaned over and looked in the pane right above the door handle!! We stared at each other for a moment - then he pecked the glass twice and flew away.

:happy_flower soo cool

i like 'em because they're good at sounding the alarm about hawks. blue jays are good at it too. my rooster, charlie, when he hears them he goes on high alert.

I wish I had had something to give him.
They got some meaty pork chop bones early in the morning - and they usually just get a couple of apple cores or something like that. maybe he was wondering if there was someone new tossing REALLY GOOD stuff today? I'll have to hold something back in case he comes-a-knocking again tomorrow.
:p

Id go get a big bag of those cheap animal crackers to keep on hand for the crows for when they're training you.

That's just too cool!

I love crows. There's just something about their sassy attitude that gets to me. Crows are the anarchists of the animal kingdom. Around here they seem to favor neglected palm trees as a nesting site; the ones with dead fronds all up and down the trunk. Maybe the tree rats (who also favor palms) give them a ready food supply.
