That is such a cute picture @majorcatfish It reminds me of our old Lab, Danny. He learned how to open the pantry door and get into the catfood bag. DH blamed the cat, but I knew it was Danny. We just bought a lot of catfood.
when it's feeding times once the pantry door is opened ava goes right in lifts the lid to the bucket and gets a quick snack, have tried to teach nola this but she wants no part if it..all we get is a look of "just feed me"....
nola has an internal clock she knows when it's 5:15 am and 5:15 pm, she will let you know that it's time for either breakfast or dinner. and if your late she will let you know as well.
You actually teach your dogs to get into the feed container? I have to secure my feed tote so they won't eat me out of house and home! I had recently switched totes and this one had a hinged top...didn't take long for Ben to figure that out and start helping himself. Now I have to switch to a tote with locking handles...sure hope he doesn't figure that one out. Both dogs would founder themselves if given the opportunity for free feeding.
I leave the open bag of dog food sitting on the floor, but Penny doesn't get into it. She always waits till I tell her "OK" before she starts eating. ?? I didn't train her to do that.
But like Nola, she knows when it's 5:15. Time for chow, Ma!
