Oh No! Hoping it was a small one that didn't cause much damage. Waiting to hear an update when you have time and can post.

Hey everyone,
No worries, everyone survived the fire. My husband was cooking tempura for dinner while I ran out real quick to drop off my son at nana’s house.

I came back to see no less than 8 fire engines on my street. There were so many fire engines they could not all stuff themselves on my street and were parked at the mouth of it too.

I looked to see which neighbors house was on fire, only to notice it was, in fact, my house they were all crowding around. -.-

A quick call to my husband revealed he was panicked but fine, and had also rescued the dogs. Since I always take the baby with me even for short trips she was never in the building.

We aren’t sure how the house caught fire. Hubby switched the burner off before walking away, and came back to the whole oven in flames.

As for damage, I need a new kitchen and a new roof. There was very heavy smoke damage in all the rooms and all the baby stuff needs to be tossed. I’m a little salty about that.

We are insured, but some of the things that burned were not replaceable.

Fortunately everyone’s alive, and in the end stuff is just stuff.

Just to make things more fun, we are having the biggest snowstorm in 37 years according to my neighbor.

Anyway I will check in when I can, but my computer took damage and is with the cleaning company getting repaired if possible.

Also,?im still gardening dammit. Potted up the cukes in my greenhouse today, even though I had to drive 10 miles through a blizzard to an unlivable house to do it.

Please forgive any typos. Typing on my phone is hard

I am so glad it was stopped early and everyone is safe! Soon you will have all new stuff! Perhaps that is the silver lining to a big mess!

Bless your heart. I hope the repairs go quickly and you can get back to your life. So glad you and your family are not injured, at least physically.
