Well, I guess y'all were too busy mowing and mulching and digging and planting, SOOOOO.....I answered my own question.
For those who are interested, YES, my new Hydrangea brightened right up after I stuck it in a bucket of water for a day. I planted it yesterday evening after digging it a 2 ft hole (with my post hole auger). It's on the SE corner, next to the house. The Bushes should fill in enough to help it this winter, BUT I'll probably protect it anyway. I watered it HEAVILY last night and this morning. I'll put a milk carton w/holes to drip-water it, which I'll install this weekend. Here's what it looks like.
They ALWAYS look good coming home from the store, don't they. =/
